McWood fabricated and installed a monumental 175-foot-wide by 30-foot-high banner for the opening ceremonies of the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup at BMO Field in Toronto. Concealed behind the stadium stands before its dramatic reveal, the banner was engineered to perform safely in high-wind conditions.

Working closely with the project engineer, we developed a wind-resistant installation using ultra-mesh vinyl to allow airflow. The printed panels were precision cut, secured to soccer netting with heavy-duty zip ties, and rigged to a 200-foot, ½-inch steel cable. The completed banner was lifted into position using two 80-ton cranes, creating a memorable visual centrepiece for the event's opening ceremony.
